Uchu Brewing, based in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, will release a new batch of its flagship brand, "Uchu ALE," starting at 7:00 p.m. on April 29. In an official Instagram post, the brewery said it had made a "major recipe change" for this batch and finished it as "a clearer, danker West Coast IPA." The alcohol content is 6.5%.
Uchu ALE is one of the beers that symbolizes the brewery. The post presents a unique worldview in which it is a beer popular with young people in space who are searching for "fifth-dimensional fruit" growing in the galaxy, and the space-themed story the brand has consistently built is carried over into this release as well. In this new batch, the concept remains intact, while the drinking experience has been pushed in a more clearly defined direction.
Uchu Brewing was founded in Yamanashi in 2018, and is now headquartered in Hokuto, where it also operates its brewery. The company runs taprooms in Kobuchizawa, Yamanashi, and Toranomon, Tokyo, and has promoted a distinctive space-themed worldview along with a fresh craft beer experience. For drinkers, this release is one that makes them want to see exactly how the brewery has updated its flagship Uchu ALE.
