Blade Factory Brewing announced the release of its new beer "SMOKE FORGED LAGER (ABV: 5%)" on Instagram. The post explains that the beer is designed not to push the smoke-derived aroma too far to the front, but to harmonize it with the crisp drinkability of pilsner malt.

According to the brewery, the beer gently opens with a "mild smoky aroma" while finishing dry and clean. It is meant to capture the distinctive character of a smoke lager while still aiming for the kind of drinkability that makes you want another glass. Rather than leaning into heaviness or strong quirks, the emphasis is on a balanced profile that makes it easy to keep pouring in everyday settings.

The concept is also said to draw on the image of the smoke that rises when forging blades, creating a release that connects with the brewery's own worldview. It can be seen as an expression typical of this Gifu-based brewery, linking its motif with the liquid design.

Available formats are as follows.

- 15L keg
- 10L keg
- 350ml can

Orders for bars and retailers can be placed through BEST BEER JAPAN or by direct DM. For drinkers who are interested in smoke beer but want to avoid an overly heavy finish, this new release seems like a worthwhile option to try.
