BEER CAFE GAMBRINUS, a 1-minute walk from the south exit of Kokubunji Station, is a craft beer cafe founded in December 2007. Today, you can enjoy 14 taps of craft beer alongside handmade dishes by Japanese chef Icchy. The convenience of being Non Smoking, No Charge, and Free Wi-Fi also makes it an easy place to drop in on a regular basis.

The star of the day is the tapping of Outsider / Sasquatch [American IPA]. The shop is also introducing imported Czech beer, with Bernard / Dark 12° [Dark Lager] presented as the first release. A dark lager that has a toasty aroma yet drinks cleanly seems like a great match for hearty dishes such as the stir-fried turnip and pork with oyster sauce featured in the photos.

The draft lineup is broad as well. Nomcraft / Mighty Dragon [Hazy IPA], Yokohama Bay Brewing / Flatland [Extra Pale Ale], Shiga Kogen Beer / Snow Monkey IPA, Hino Brewing / Heisei Banana [Fruit Weizen], and Novoru Brewing / Musubu [Belgian Blonde] cover everything from hop-forward IPAs to light ales and fruit-driven weizens. In addition, Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus / 12° [Pilsner] scheduled for delivery on April 7, Outsider / Cherry Boy [Golden Ale], Baird Beer / Brewer's Nightmare Rye IPA, Craft Beer Base / English IPA, Craft Bank / Coffee Stout, and Minoh Beer / Rockin' Osaru IPA [Double IPA] are also on the list, giving you a lineup you can choose from depending on your mood. It's a selection suited to days when you want to slowly enjoy a drink with your meal in Kokubunji.
