Wakuwaku Brewery in Nomi, Ishikawa, has released Kaga Shizuku Ale, an ale made with locally grown Kaga Shizuku pears. The brewery introduced the beer on its official Instagram as a luxurious drink available only for a limited seasonal window.

Kaga Shizuku is an original pear variety developed in Ishikawa. It is known for its juicy texture, refined sweetness, gentle acidity and smooth mouthfeel. In the beer, those fruit characteristics are expected to complement the grain-derived body and subtle malt richness of the ale, creating a drink that sits between a refreshing fruit beer and a more rounded craft ale. It should work well with lightly salted dishes, cheese or desserts.

Wakuwaku Brewery is operated by Wakuwaku Tezukuri Farm Kawakita, an agricultural corporation that handles everything from growing barley to brewing beer. The farm is located in the Tedori River area, where water flows from Mount Hakusan through the Kaga Plain. Its brewing philosophy centers on using local resources, including homegrown six-row barley, rice and water from the Hakusan region.

The brewery’s main brand, Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Beer, is also built around local ingredients and farm-based production. Kaga Shizuku Ale extends that approach into a seasonal fruit beer, connecting the pear harvest with Ishikawa’s brewing culture.

Availability and stock may change depending on the sales channel. Those interested should check Wakuwaku Brewery’s official announcements or contact retailers for the latest information. For craft beer fans, it offers a timely way to enjoy the intersection of local agriculture, pear season and small-scale brewing.
