New arrivals have reached Nomimono-ya, the beer pub in Busshozan-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, from Amaku Uku, a brewery in Nasu-Shiobara, Tochigi Prefecture. The post introduces three 750 ml bottle labels, each one very much in line with the brewery’s signature bottle-conditioned style.
- Yukihira 2025
A country beer made with lemon verbena and lemongrass from Nasu Kogen HERB's. It undergoes four weeks of open fermentation with a wild yeast strain collected in-house, layering a sweet fragrance, pineapple-candy-like fruitiness, and a lemon-tea-like flavor. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, with alcohol content of more than 4% and less than 5%.
- Taigan 2025
A beer made with several kinds of roasted malt, notable for balancing fruitiness and malt character. Pear, a subtle phenolic note, marmalade-like fruitiness, and the bitterness of blood orange come together, and after the bottle is opened and left until the next day or later, the flavor balance becomes even more integrated. This one is also unfiltered and unpasteurized.
- Wanko 2026
A light, refreshing beer that combines the crispness of malt with the fresh aroma of coriander seed, fruitiness from apples with honey, and a soft hop bitterness. It has a drinkability that feels suited to the new season, and it also seems worth enjoying over several days as it changes.
Nomimono-ya is a beer pub where locals can settle in and enjoy a drink at their own pace. Bottled arrivals like these are appealing because, unlike a pint on tap, they can be enjoyed with temperature changes and the shifting character that comes after opening. The serving hours listed are March 28 from 14:00 to 17:00, March 29 from 14:00 to 18:00, and March 31 from 17:00 to 21:00. If you're interested, it's best to check them out early.
