A small Uraga brewery heads to Ikebukuro

White Dog Brewing is a husband-and-wife-run brewery based in Uraga, Yokosuka, Kanagawa. Known as a historic port town, Uraga sits in the southeastern part of the Miura Peninsula, an area with abundant local produce and a strong connection to the sea and surrounding communities.

The brewery works directly with producers and uses ingredients such as fruit and honey in its craft beer. Its philosophy is simple: each glass should become one of the small pleasures of everyday life.

Fresh pours and food pairings

White Dog Brewing will appear at the IKEBUKURO LIVING LOOP 2026 Special Market, held around Ikebukuro East Exit Green Boulevard and Minami-Ikebukuro Park. The three-day event features a broad selection of drinks and food, including craft beer, cocktails, and lemon sours.

White Dog Brewing’s appearance is scheduled for October 30. Visitors can enjoy beer poured fresh from the tap, with chimaki and sausages available to accompany the drinks. The combination offers an easy way to experience the brewery’s beers as part of a relaxed market meal rather than as a standalone tasting.

Bottled beer will also be available to take home, giving visitors the chance to revisit their favorite pour after the event.

For beer fans in Tokyo, the appearance is an opportunity to discover a brewery from Uraga while exploring a neighborhood market. A fresh pint, a savory snack, and a walk through Ikebukuro’s streets make for a fitting introduction to White Dog Brewing’s local approach.
