At Craft Beer Server Land, located in the basement of Kagurazaka, the beer lineup for April 4 was announced. From white styles to IPA and dark beer, the selection is broad enough to make a day of side-by-side tastings.

The big highlight this time is the strength of the wheat-beer lineup. Beer Hearn Weizen, Numazu Craft FLEUR DE SAISON, and Nihonkai Club Weizen form a trio that makes it easy to compare aroma and mouthfeel. In the lager section that follows, Akita Akura Beer Akita Komachi IPL, Ise Kadoya Beer Fresh-pressed Beyond the Pacific (West Coast Pilsner), and Hansharo Beer Agari Red Lager are on tap, offering a wide range from gentle drinkability to pronounced hop character.

Among the ales, FLORA FERMENTATION LUPUS (Pale Ale), Minami Shinshu Beer Golden Ale, Swan Lake Beer Miel Blanc, and Sakura Brewery BLAZING RED appear. The IPA selection is packed with hop-forward labels such as GARCIA BREWING SOL NASIENTE Hazy IPA, 808 Brewery 808IPA, Nagisa Beer IPA, and Voyager Brewing IPA. Also on tap are Sankt Gallen Whey Sour Ale Strawberry, Chichibu Beer Namimachi Black Kuma (Milk Stout), Rokko Beer Porter, and Sapporo Beer Yebisu.

Prices are 700 yen for a glass (270 ml) and 1,100 yen for a pint (US 473 ml). As befits a beer pub near Kagurazaka Station, the calm underground space seems well suited to trying a few styles little by little. Rather than pairing with a meal, it is the kind of place where you want to study the tap list first and choose today's drink.
