4th Omishima Sake Fest at Omishima Brewery, to Be Held in Two Sessions on April 11, Day and Night
An Instagram post from Omishima Brewery announced the 4th Omishima Sake Fest, scheduled for Saturday, April 11. The daytime session will feature drinking around three venues and food stalls, while the nighttime session is planned as a bar-hopping event across three venues.
Omishima Brewery announced that it will hold the fourth "Omishima Sake Fest" on Saturday, April 11. The venue will be a roaming event connecting multiple spots on Omishima in the Shimanami Kaido, including the brewpub. It looks set to be a day where you can enjoy the island's craft beer together with local food.
Daytime Session at Three Venues
The daytime session runs from 11:00 to 16:00. The venues are Cafe SANDO / Omishima Minna no Winery / Omishima Brewery, and many food vendors will also take part. In addition to a stamp rally with luxury prizes, the post also announces stage performances by Kamiura Kaido Yume Daiko (from 14:00) and Omishima Yurufuwa Dance Club (from 15:00). Soft drinks will also be available, making it an easy event for people who do not drink alcohol to join.
Evening Bar-Hopping Event
The evening session is "Sake Fest Collaboration night!" from 18:00. Guests can freely move between Kitsune no Botan / Cafe SANDO / Shared Kitchen Waki, enjoying pairings of food and drinks. Unlike the daytime session, this one is appealing for the chance to spend time with a stronger focus on matching drinks with meals.
Omishima Brewery's Staple Drinks to Try
Omishima Brewery is a small brewpub run by a married couple on Omishima, located in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido. Its regular menu includes a mild blonde ale, an IPA with a pronounced hop bitterness and aroma, a fruity Belgian ale derived from Belgian yeast, a citrus-based white ale, and a rich yet easy-drinking stout. It is a lineup that balances lightness and drinkability in a way that suits the island atmosphere.
On the day of the event, Omishima Brewery will operate as event service from 11:00 to 16:00, then regular service from 16:00 to 19:30 last order. The post also notes that there is no dedicated event parking, and directs visitors to use either the Municipal Fuji Park parking lot or the Omishima Branch parking lot. This is an event worth watching for anyone who wants to enjoy a day of craft beer and food while touring the island.
