Yokohama Beer Brewery (Kanagawa) revealed details of its new product, "Super Sonic Speed Sour," on Instagram. According to the post, shipping for the beer will begin on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. It is positioned as one release in the limited project "Brewers One Series", which turns each brewer's individual exploration into a beer.

This time, head brewer Mr. Ida is in charge. In addition to lemon, which pairs well with beer, he uses bergamot, known for its clean, refreshing aroma, aiming for a crisp drinking experience. The beer also uses both sour-ale yeast and a standard ale yeast, creating an acidity design that avoids becoming monotonous. By adding lactose, the brewery highlights a mellow character that softens the edge of the acidity.

Sales are planned across multiple channels, including Yokohama Beer Brewery's flagship restaurant "UMAYA," Yokohama Beer Stand, department store counters in the Yokohama area, and some mass retailers and specialty shops. The post also notes that "sales timing differs by store," so it would be wise to check each shop for its arrival timing.

As the Yokohama Beer official website message says, "Beer that connects people and brings excitement to life in Yokohama!" the move to combine a local retail network with limited brewing seems like a very community-rooted brewery initiative.
