New taps
Beer&Cafe Hafen in Esaka, Suita City, Osaka, has refreshed its tap lineup. In the post, the shop says the new beers came together after a weekend outing to view lotus flowers and an unexpected visit from Daisen G Beer.
The current taps are:
- Iwate Kura Beer Sansho: a Japanese herb ale built around sansho pepper, with a profile that should pair naturally with food.
- Daisen G Beer Grand Saison: a cloudy white beer with white-wine-like Nelson Sauvin notes, Belgian yeast spice, and a crisp wheat-malt finish.
- FLORA FERMENTATION UTSUROBUNE: another beer currently on tap.
The next arrivals are Minoh Beer Koucha Bitter and Daisen G Beer India Pale Saison. The post also suggests pairing the Sansho beer with karaage in house soy sauce glaze, which fits the pub's food-friendly approach.
Beer&Cafe Hafen is a compact beer pub focused on craft beer. Parties of three or more are by reservation, except for drink-only visits. It is the kind of place that rewards careful drinking: a spice-forward ale, a fragrant saison, and a rotation that keeps the next visit interesting.
