Ishiyama Rock Brewery, based near Ishiyamadera Temple in Otsu, Shiga, will take part in Kusatsu Craft Beer Land on September 12 and 13, 2026. The outdoor festival will bring together breweries from Shiga, Kyoto and Nara at Kusatsugawa Atochi Park.

Ishiyama Rock Brewery has announced its participation in Kusatsu Craft Beer Land, taking place on September 12–13, 2026, at Kusatsugawa Atochi Park de Ai Hiroba. The festival will run from noon to 7 p.m. on both days, with free admission and a selection of craft beer and food.
Seven breweries from Shiga, Kyoto and Nara are scheduled to participate, including Omi Beer, Hikone Beer, HINO BREWING, Nagahama Roman Beer, Kotokoto Beer and Golden Rabbit Beer. The event will also be held alongside Kusatsu Manpuku Park, featuring hearty dishes and sweets.
Ishiyama Rock Brewery is located by the gate of Ishiyamadera Temple in Otsu, overlooking the Seta River. The brewery was founded with the aim of making good local craft beer easy to enjoy, and opened its original brewing facility in April 2025. Its name refers to the large rock, or “rock,” associated with Keikai-seki, a designated natural monument at Ishiyamadera Temple.
Its lineup includes Ishiyama Rock IPA, made with six hop varieties and known for its citrus and tropical aromas and firm bitterness, as well as Ishiyama Rock Pale Ale, an approachable American pale ale with malt richness and citrus hop notes. Hazy IPA and Weizen are also part of the brewery’s range. The beers available at the festival will be announced by the brewery.
With multiple breweries gathered in one outdoor venue, the festival offers a chance to compare different local styles while discovering Ishiyama Rock Brewery’s distinctive approach. Additional attractions, including an outdoor mini-theater and jazz performances, are also planned for the weekend.
