Mushimahama Brewery is hosting the 32nd Minato no Kyujitsu, with the next one set for April 26
In a March 22 post, Mushima Hama Brewery announced that the 32nd installment of the Kasaoka Port area market "Minato no Kyujitsu" is currently underway. It also announced that the 33rd installment will be held on Sunday, April 26. The energy of this local event, centered on seaside daytime drinking, is only growing stronger as spring approaches.
Mushimahama Brewery, based on Mushima Island in the Kasaoka Islands of Okayama, posted on Instagram: "Today, the 32nd Minato no Kyujitsu is underway!" The post said the venue was lively with visitors' smiles and the aroma of food.
The big point in this post is that the next event date was clearly stated. The 33rd installment is set for Sunday, April 26, and the event is expected to continue as a daytime drinking gathering to enjoy by the spring sea.
In addition, the following three vendors were introduced as first-time participants at the next event:
- Shimanami Brewery (Onomichi)
- RANBAO
- Kojitsu
It also mentions the return of Saisai Taiwan, so along with craft beer, this edition looks likely to have a substantial food lineup as well.
On its official website, Mushima Hama Brewery states that it is brewing beer on Mushima, one of the Kasaoka Islands in Okayama Prefecture, and that it is based on a small island with a population of 40. The pattern of an island brewery continuing to take part in a port-town event is interesting not just as vendor information, but also as a movement connecting Setouchi life with craft beer culture.
It's easy to drink casually at the port and get to know the island brewers. That's the appeal of "Minato no Kyujitsu." Even if you couldn't make it this time, April 26 is a date worth marking on your calendar.
Information may be inaccurate. Please refer to the brewery’s official channels for the latest details.
