Moon Brewery releases TAKE ALE saison brewed with bamboo
Moon Brewery in Kobe’s Nishi Ward is introducing its new TAKE ALE saison. The beer uses bamboo collected during bamboo grove maintenance in Niuyamada and is positioned as a refreshing summer-style release.
Moon Brewery, based in Nishi Ward, Kobe, is promoting a new beer, TAKE ALE (Bamboo Ale) - Saison -, through Instagram and its official online shop. The product page lists it at ¥770 for a single bottle, ¥2,300 for a 3-bottle set, and ¥4,600 for a 6-bottle set.
The beer is made with bamboo obtained while maintaining overgrown bamboo groves in Niuyamada. Built as a saison, the product description calls it a beer that is “perfect for summer,” with a crisp, refreshing finish and a distinctive green bamboo note. The ingredients include barley malt, bamboo, rice, oats, wheat malt, hops, and carrageenan. It is sold as a happoshu-style beer in 330 ml bottles with 7% ABV.
Moon Brewery positions itself as a brewery built around craft beer made with organically grown Koshihikari rice cultivated in-house. Its official site emphasizes that the brewery works from rice farming through brewing in Kobe’s Nishi Ward. TAKE ALE fits that approach well: a local ingredient story translated directly into the glass.
