Anglo-Japanese Brewing (AJB) announced Sour Grapefruit Cooler as its second release. On its official Instagram, it describes it as "the perfect beer for cooling off" for the season as temperatures rise.

This beer is a Berliner Weisse made with wheat from Nozawa Onsen Village and grapefruit juice. According to AJB's announcement, it is designed with a light acidity from lactic fermentation built on a wheat-forward base, layered with the refreshing character and subtle bitterness of grapefruit. Chilled, its clean drinkability stands out even more.

AJB started in Nozawa Onsen Village, Nagano Prefecture, in 2014 with the launch of the taproom "Ribushi" in front of Oyu and a pilot brewery. In 2017, it expanded equipment by renovating an old nursery school, and has continued making beer unconstrained by style, including barrel-aged beers, sours, and saisons. The brewing environment fostered in this mountain hot-spring town and its commitment to using local ingredients are also reflected in this release.

Sour Grapefruit Cooler is an easy pairing for meals, including home parties and BBQs. Backed by Nozawa Onsen water and local ingredients, this is a release worth watching as a candidate for AJB's new seasonal staple.
