Camado Brewery HAKOFUNE updates six taps, led by Natsuzora Sansho Ale
Camado Brewery HAKOFUNE, a brewpub in Mizunami, Gifu, has refreshed its tap list with six beers. The lineup includes Natsuzora Sansho Ale, Kawachi Bankan Sour, and Kanjuku Ume Brut IPA.
Camado Brewery HAKOFUNE in Kamado-cho, Mizunami, Gifu, is a brewpub with its brewery attached. This week’s tap update features six beers: Anky Lager, Natsuzora Sansho Ale, Kawachi Bankan Sour, Kiln Firing Stories 1st Mov. Light the Kiln On Fire IPA, Discovery#1 High Aroma Hazy IPA, and Kanjuku Ume Brut IPA.
The lineup spans lager, sour, IPA, hazy, and brut IPA, giving drinkers plenty of room for comparison. Natsuzora Sansho Ale leans on the fresh green aroma of Japanese sansho pepper, while Kanjuku Ume Brut IPA uses fully ripened plums from Kamado-cho, fermented on fruit, to build apricot- and peach-like aromatics with a sparkling-wine-like finish.
HAKOFUNE also stands out for its glassware: as a Mino ware region brewpub, it serves beer in cups made with local ceramic artists. The food menu includes smoked mixed nuts, iburigakko cream cheese, seasonal vegetable snacks, Bono pork beer stew, and keema curry, so the tap list works well alongside a full meal. With 6 counter seats and 16 indoor seats, it is a relaxed place to spend time with beers that reflect the local area.
