A dish in prep and six taps

At the beer pub "Neko no Shukaijo" on a side street in Umegaoka, they were open that day while also prepping their signature savory lamb stew. The atmosphere is calm, making it easy to drop in alone or to spend time drinking slowly with a few friends. In a post, they introduced six draft beers as the day's tap list. They also offer cup takeout, and the drafts can be ordered in three sizes.

That day's lineup

- Lagna / CRAFTROCK - West Coast Pilsner
- Pirono Helles / Pirono - Helles
- Cascara / Flora Farmentation - Dunkel w/Coffee Cherry
- KASUMI / Shiga Kogen - Hazy Session IPA
- Super Fresh / WCB x Inkhorn collaboration - Hazy DIPA
- Seki / OHLOY - West Coast IPA

The new tap highlight was KASUMI from Shiga Kogen. Although hazy, it has an alcohol content of 4.5%, and it is presented as the kind of beer that drinks lightly and smoothly on a hot day. The overall lineup also spans everything from West Coast styles to Helles and darker-ale-leaning beers, making it easy to compare side by side.

On the food side, a dish like the spice-forward savory lamb stew takes center stage. The shop is clearly built around pairing with beer, and another feature is that canned and bottled beers can be enjoyed in-house and also purchased to go. It is the kind of place that suits a day in Umegaoka when you want to enjoy both beer and a meal centered around it.
