MIHAMA BASE in Inagekaigan taps West Coast Brewing's The Hop Dukes
WORLD BEER&DINING MIHAMA BASE in Inagekaigan has tapped West Coast Brewing's The Hop Dukes, a 7.0% West Coast IPA brewed in collaboration with Sakamichi Brewing. The beer brings citrus, tropical fruit, melon, and a firm IPA bitterness.
At WORLD BEER&DINING MIHAMA BASE in Chiba's Mihama ward, the tap list has moved to a new West Coast Brewing release. The venue also holds a general liquor retail license, so guests can enjoy beer in-house or take home bottles and cans, which makes it a flexible stop for craft beer fans.
The new arrival is `West Coast Brewing The Hop Dukes`. It is a collaboration with `Sakamichi Brewing` from Tachikawa and uses a small amount of wheat malt along with a generous dry hop charge, giving it a slightly hazy look. The beer is a West Coast IPA at 7.0% ABV. According to the brewery notes, it opens with bright citrus and tropical fruit aromas, adds a soft melon character, then finishes with grassy and woody notes. The bitterness and moderate sweetness are both present, making it a well-balanced IPA for the season.
The rest of the taps show the range MIHAMA BASE is known for. `GUINNESS`, `KIRIN HEARTLAND`, and `Hoegaarden White` sit alongside `Faction Terpsman IPA`, `NEKOBEER わたしはさくらんぼ`, `Toppling Goliath Supa Sue-Mo`, `Firestone Walker pFreal West Coast IPA`, and `Green Flash Hazy West Coast IPA`. In other words, the lineup spans stout, pilsner, white ale, sour IPA, Double IPA, West Coast IPA, and hazy IPA, offering plenty of room for comparison tasting.
Business hours are 5:00 pm to 1:00 am, with Tuesdays closed. The shop will be closed on Sunday, June 28 for system maintenance and plans a substitute opening on Tuesday, June 30. For drinkers following the tap rotation in Inagekaigan, this is a good day to check in.
