Shinkichi Brewery (Wakamatsu-cho, Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture) will be exhibiting on both Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 at "Natural Wine Love Vol.06," held in the courtyard and pilotis of the United Nations University. The event is free to enter, and visitors are advised that buying tasting tickets in advance is a better deal.

Shinkichi Brewery is a brewpub that has been making beer in Takasaki since 2017. Drawing on the sensibilities of a Japanese cuisine chef, it positions its beer as a "meal companion" meant to go with everyday food. In its post, the brewery explained this direction as making beers that can feel wine-like, with restrained carbonation and bitterness that is not too strong.

The standout recommendation for this event is the braggot "Don't Get Me Going." Made with Muscat Bailey A and local Gunma Fujiminori grapes, it is a sparkling brewed beverage based on malt and honey. For this release, it was brewed without hops and finished as a rosé-colored bottle. In addition, the brewery is suggesting a tasting comparison with "Gentle Devil," brewed with the same grapes and with a focus on acetic acidity.

At the venue, the beers are envisioned as something to enjoy like a chaser between wines, or paired with toast spread with butter, making it clear that the beers are designed to be enjoyed alongside food. As a brewery with a wine-leaning approach that is rare in the craft beer scene, it seems likely to stand out even at a natural wine event.
