Founded in Soga, Chiba in 2020, Shiokaze Brewlab is preparing a local beer festival that reflects the brewery's community-minded approach. Shio Fes 2026 will take place on June 6 and 7 at the parking and green-space area of the JFE Gymnasium site in Chiba City's Chuo Ward, running from 11:00 to 19:00. On the final day, last orders are set for 18:00.

Shiokaze Brewlab is known as a project led by Chris Pool, who built his experience at Baird Beer in Shizuoka before continuing as a phantom brewery and later opening a dedicated site in Chiba's port area. The brewery describes itself as a laboratory for diverse beer styles that go beyond taste trends, eras, countries, and cultures. Shio Fes 2026 extends that idea into a neighborhood event format.

According to pre-event coverage, the brewery lineup will include Shiokaze Brewlab, Cycad Brewing, Three Arrows Brewing, Yggdrasil Brewing, West Coast Brewing, Noroshi Brewery, and Kikorin Brewery. Food vendors are set to serve fried chicken, sausages, jerk chicken, Napolitan pasta, pizza, game-meat skewers, and burgers. The venue will also feature a DJ booth, a body-painting corner, and the Oide Marche area, which will offer fair-trade organic coffee, baked goods, and assorted goods.

For beer fans in Chiba, the festival offers a chance to sample a broad range of brews while seeing how Shiokaze Brewlab uses its anniversary to connect beer, food, and the local community. The event is canceled in case of rain, and no parking is provided, so visitors are asked to use public transportation.
