Shiokaze Blue Lab Brewery in Chiba City introduced its plans in a post about Tsukuba Craft Beer Fest 2026.

The brewery was founded in Chiba Port Area by Chris Pool, who spent 18 years at Baird Beer. The post says the project began as a phantom brewery without its own production equipment and later moved into a long-awaited dedicated brewhouse. It also explains that the word “Lab” reflects the brewery’s interest in ingredient research.

The featured beer is the IPA “Shiokaze Meido.” The beer is described with floral, white-grape and dank aromas, plus a strong New Zealand hop character. The brewery suggests grilled dishes as a good pairing.

The festival will be held from October 16 to 18 at Tsukuba Center Square, near TX Tsukuba Station. Admission is free, and visitors are asked to buy a reusable cup at the venue or bring their own mug.
