Matsumoto Brewery, based in Matsumoto City, Nagano, will mark the first anniversary of its Ekimae shop on April 25. In a post, the brewery announced that, as part of a commemorative event at the storefront, President Hayashi himself will serve beer to visitors.
The event will run for a short time, from 16:00 to 17:30, but it carries the message that the brewery wants everyone to celebrate the first anniversary together with a toast. Visitors will also be offered a small gift in the form of Matsu Blue stickers. Quantities are limited, and the giveaway will end once they run out.
The post also noted that winter has ended and it is now the season when beer tastes especially good. For Matsumoto Brewery, this is a milestone as it enters its 10th year as a company and its 2nd year for the Ekimae shop. It suggests the year-long effort to nurture the Ekimae shop as a place in Matsumoto where everyday toasts are born.
The brewery's attitude of wanting to be a place where first-time visitors can easily walk in and returning guests can feel welcomed back was also striking. Rather than flashy presentation, it feels like a milestone event that reflects Matsumoto Brewery's style, one that values closeness with the people who come through the door.
