Tap Update at Hamamatsucho SOUL BIRD, with 10 Beers Including VOYAGER and Kyoto Brewing
Cafe & CraftBeer Dining SOUL BIRD, a beer pub in Hamamatsucho, Tokyo, has released its tap lineup for March 31. From VOYAGER ale and Kyoto Brewing's oatmeal stout to imported beers from Burnt Mill and Range × Mountain Culture, the selection covers a wide range of styles.
Tokyo's Hamamatsucho-based Cafe & CraftBeer Dining SOUL BIRD posted its tap information on Instagram under the title "HAPPY NIGHT SOUL BIRD." In the post, the beers available on March 31 at the bar are introduced as "Today's BEER on TAP," with a lineup that spans everything from regulars to imports.
The first beer that stands out in the day's lineup is VOYAGER's "COPPER." It is an Ale with ABV 6.0% and IBU 31, and is presented as a beer designed with balance in mind. Following that is Kyoto Brewing's "Shallaku -Sharaku-." This one is an Oatmeal Stout with ABV 5.5% and IBU 30. It is described as featuring aromas reminiscent of caramel and chocolate, along with the smooth mouthfeel brought by oats, making it a good fit for those who want to enjoy a malty finish.
Other domestic beers on the list include Kanpai!'s "Nozokizaka Kölsch" and Tazawako Beer's "Weizen." The former is a Kölsch with ABV 4.5% and IBU 25, while the latter is a Weizen with ABV 5.0% and IBU 13. Both are styles that pair easily with food, making them a natural fit for SOUL BIRD's dining-oriented setup.
On the imported side, Burnt Mill's "Diamond Lake" is a New Zealand Pale Ale with ABV 4.8%. Range × Mountain Culture's "Take A Hike" is a DDH IPA with ABV 7.2% and IBU 60, and its tropical-fruit-like aroma and firm hop presence are among the highlights. Also on tap are Forest Brewing's "Yuhi no IPA" as an IPA with ABV 6.0%, and Varietal Beer's "Twine Climber" as an American IPA with ABV 6.7%, giving IPA fans more appealing choices.
The post also mentions plans to add more sours and hazies, so the tap list still seems likely to keep changing. In addition to the casual feel of a beer pub, SOUL BIRD's appeal lies in the ability to enjoy craft beer alongside a meal. For anyone in the Hamamatsucho area who wants to check the current tap situation and choose a pint accordingly, this is a worthwhile place to visit.
