On Sunday, May 31, Sakura Taps launched its Sunday-only food item, Taco Rice Sunday!!. This week’s offering is "Vegetable-Rich Coarsely Ground Meat Taco Rice," made with specially seasoned taco meat from coarsely ground meat, plenty of vegetables, and finished with homemade salsa sauce. It is a beer-friendly dish that works just as well for a late brunch as it does for dinner.

Two beers were added to the draft lineup that day. One is Minami Shinshu Beer’s STARLIGHT IPA. It is presented as the brewery’s first American IPA inspired by a style closer to the U.S. West Coast, and is characterized by hop aromas from Galaxy and Eldorado along with firm bitterness. It was introduced as a beer that keeps the aroma from becoming overpowering while delivering a clean finish.

The other is West Coast Brewing’s Dr. Dankness. Built around 2026 Nelson Sauvin, it combines Mosaic and Mosaic LUPOMAX, and further amplifies dank character with terpenes. Its profile is said to layer rich tropical aromas reminiscent of mango and pineapple with juicy notes like peach and melon, offering a smooth, silky drinking experience.

Sakura Taps is a beer pub in Yokohama where you can enjoy craft beer and hand-drip coffee. Its relaxed interior has eight counter seats and six table seats, and it is easy to stop by even for standing service. True to a shop that offers eight rotating taps each day, the lineup on this day was one you would want to drink through with food pairings in mind. With the spicy taco rice and IPA combination, it was a setup for spending a leisurely Sunday from afternoon into night.
