A collaboration between Okinawa’s Shimaguni Brewery Okinawa and LIVES CHOCOLATE, which specializes in Bean to Bar chocolate, has been announced. According to the post, the centerpiece is the limited-edition beer "Cacao Porter".

This beer is based on Shimaguni Brewery’s Baltic Porter, finished by infusing it with cacao nibs and husks from Tanzania. It is said to be designed so that you can enjoy the aroma and richness of cacao while still having a light, refreshing drinking experience. As for where it will be sold, the post mentions outlets such as Rakuen Hyakkaten, and it will be available in limited quantities.

Also introduced at the same time was a hop chocolate that makes the most of the aroma of hops used in beer brewing. It combines the white-wine-like aroma derived from Nelson Sauvin with Ecuadorian cacao known for its bright fragrance, and is also being suggested as a pairing with craft beer.

As mentioned in the post, Shimaguni Brewery Okinawa is a brewery that makes craft beer in Uruma, Okinawa. This project, which combines its locally rooted brewing context with collaboration from creators in the prefecture, is not just a limited product; it is also an interesting example of cross-sector cooperation within Okinawa’s craft scene. This is the kind of story worth following as an in-store, experiential collaboration that can be enjoyed from both the beer side and the chocolate side.
