A debut American Pale Ale in Oshiage

Craft beer pub GAHAHOUSE in Kyojima, Sumida, Tokyo, is now serving KONOHANA Pale Ale. The beer is introduced as the debut work of Sekine, a brewer who has become part of the GAHAHOUSE circle. The pub began pouring it slightly earlier than the brewery’s main venue.

KONOHANA Pale Ale is an American Pale Ale with 35 IBU and 5.8% ABV. According to the post, it has a classic pale ale profile and a clearly present bitterness. Rather than aiming only for light drinkability, it is presented as a beer with enough bitterness and structure to make each sip satisfying.

Pair it with GAHAHOUSE’s food

Located beneath Tokyo Skytree, GAHAHOUSE serves house-brewed beer alongside food designed for relaxed drinking. Its menu includes Mediterranean-style oden made with a seafood-based broth, fish and chips, and Japanese-style fried chicken. The bitterness of this pale ale should provide a useful counterpoint to fried dishes and other savory food.

The pub offers table seating, counter seating, and a terrace, making it suitable for everything from an afternoon pint to an evening drink. Beer fans visiting the Oshiage area can stop by GAHAHOUSE to try Sekine’s debut beer with a meal.

GAHAHOUSE is located on the second floor of the west building of Kotomachi Base, 1-10-6 Narihira, Sumida-ku, Tokyo. Availability and business hours may change, so checking with the venue before visiting is recommended.
