Golden Garden, a beer pub in Hiroshima’s Shintenchi district, has refreshed its June guest-beer lineup. The new list includes Kodaimai Amber from Akita, Yamamomo Ale from Nagisa Beer, Yu-Yu G-Teki from Daisen G Beer, NEW Oni Gashima IX from Y.MARKET BREWING, and the last few pours of HNB RED IPA.
Golden Garden in Hiroshima’s Shintenchi district is rolling out new guest beers for June. The post also mentions a staff get-together at a covered beer garden, and notes that house-brewed beers from HIROSHIMA NEIGHBORLY BREWING are discounted during happy hour until 7 p.m.
Beers on tap
- Kodaimai Amber / Akita Aqula Beer
A balanced amber with moderate malt character and an easy, clean finish that should pair well with food.
- Yamamomo Ale / Nagisa Beer
Introduced as a fruit ale following the brewery’s earlier mikan release, it is described as lightly sweet, smooth to drink, and gently aromatic.
- Yu-Yu G-Teki / Daisen G Beer
A limited release with wheat-beer character and lactic acidity, presented as a newly released beer.
- NEW Oni Gashima IX / Y.MARKET BREWING
A juicy hazy IPA with a relatively high ABV, so the fuller drinking profile is part of the appeal.
- HNB RED IPA / HIROSHIMA NEIGHBORLY BREWING
The OK!! Hiroshima collaboration beer is down to the last few pours, so it is one to order early.
Food on the day includes fried sardines with seaweed batter, crispy fried cheese, simmered bamboo shoots with minced meat miso, taro and pork simmered in soy sauce, smoked potato salad, and butter chicken curry. The combination of distinct guest beers, house-brewed taps, and pub food gives the venue a straightforward but appealing beer-bar feel.
