New guest beers at Golden Garden
Golden Garden, a craft beer pub in Shintenchi, Hiroshima, has rotated its draft beer lineup with four beers from three Japanese breweries: Choryo Craft in Nara, West Coast Brewing in Numazu, Shizuoka, and Kamado Brewery in Gifu.
From Choryo Craft come a low-alcohol fruit ale made with lemon and peach, and a rice lager brewed with rice. The two beers offer contrasting options, from fruit-forward aromatics to a cleaner, lighter drinking profile.
West Coast Brewing’s contribution is a single-hop WC IPA brewed with Mosaic hops. Golden Garden describes it as an IPA with a refreshing bitterness and prominent grassy character, making it a fitting choice for drinkers who want to focus on the personality of the hop.
Kamado Brewery’s hazy ale is also on tap, bringing tropical sweetness and a juicy impression to the selection.
The pub is also serving a sudachi sour made with sudachi grown by a longtime customer. Food options include a sharing platter featuring maitake mushroom tempura, chinjao rosu, nikじゃが, marinated salmon with mushrooms, salted boiled peanuts, fried cartilage, and Japanese-style sauerkraut.
Through the end of September, draft beer and a three-item snack platter are available as a set for ¥2,000 in Small, ¥2,500 in Regular, or ¥3,000 in Large. Golden Garden also offers a daily happy hour until 7 p.m. featuring draft beers from its in-house brewery, HIROSHIMA NEIGHBORLY BREWING. It is a convenient stop for sampling guest beers from across Japan in central Hiroshima.
