Tap List for May 24

The beer pub Onaji Ana no Mujina in Kobe's Sannomiya is open again for the first time in a while to coincide with its May 24 special day, "Revived Onaji Makino Mujina." The announcement shows business hours from 13:00 to 17:00, making it a full day to enjoy from daytime drinking into the evening.

The 7-Tap Lineup

Today's taps are split between two clear beers and five hazies. The first pair that stands out are Oni Densetsu's "Kinki Pale Ale ADHA-1631 Single Ver." and Y.Market Brewing's "Over Drive IP." The former is a crisp, easy-drinking clear beer, while the latter is also marked as clear, making it an easy lineup for comparing the differences in mouthfeel first.

On the hazy side, open air's "warm up," Break Edge's "Cope," and Isekadoya Brewery's "DDH Citra Hazy IPA" are newly tapped. In addition, the RAR collaborations with Hop Butcher, "Thunderstorm Inside," and with Brujos, "Personal Plague," are also included, making the focus on hop depth and juiciness very clear.

What This Place Is Like

Onaji Ana no Mujina is a taproom on Nakayamate-dori in Kobe's Sannomiya area, with an atmosphere that draws in craft beer fans. It also carries a broad selection of cans and bottles, so there is enjoyment in tracking down the stock, too. Bringing in food other than drinks is allowed, though there is a request to keep strongly scented items to a minimum, which fits a beer-first place.

A lineup like this, where clear and hazy beers can be tasted side by side, is ideal for people who want to enjoy the differences in style. If you're following the current tap scene in Kobe, this is one place worth remembering.
