The brewpub Aozora Brewery Hakata Tenyamachi in Tenyamachi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, is planning in-house events for the second half of May under the theme of a "spice month." According to its official Instagram, on Sunday, May 17, "Myabi Curry" will make its first appearance, and several kinds of curry are planned for the day. The venue is presenting the event as something to enjoy together with craft beer.
Then, on Saturday, May 30, it will host "Beer Kuma presents Horobō Biryani." The post says biryani that brings out the aroma of spices will be served, along with lassi, and the event aims to create a casual atmosphere where people can stop by anytime from daytime into the evening.
Aozora Brewery opened in 2022 in Hakata's Tenyamachi as a microbrewery that serves house-brewed beer from an on-site brewery. Its official website says it offers four core beers, TENYA IPA, TENYA SESSION IPA, TENYA WHEAT ALE, and TENYA PALE ALE, along with seasonal beers and guest beers. The interior is bright and cafe-like, and the food menu is prepared by a former Western-style chef from a hotel.
This program can be seen as one that puts the shop's "freshly brewed beer" and "compatibility with food" front and center. With spice dishes taking the spotlight, it is drawing attention as an event that broadens the ways beer can be enjoyed.
