Releasing a milestone birthday beer on June 20
Twin Peaks Mountain Brewing announced its June business schedule on Instagram and said it will begin selling its "Kanreki Beer (Altbier)" on June 20. The release is tied to owner-brewer Karsten's 60th birthday, and the day will also feature a brewery tour starting at 1:30 p.m., a raffle with prizes, and the first Japan-Germany Stammtisch at 6:00 p.m.
The brewery is a German-owned craft beer brewery and beer restaurant in Higashiarai, Tsukuba City. On its official website, it says it makes beer based on traditional German methods and recipes while also incorporating elements rooted in Tsukuba. The taproom serves 8 to 10 kinds of beer at all times, with 3 to 4 regulars and the rest rotating.
Events will continue throughout June. The brewery is scheduled to take part in BeerFes Tokyo at Ebisu Garden Place on June 6-7, and in the Ibaraki Craft Beer Festival in Mito on June 26-28, making this a consolidated announcement of the month's activity along with the commemorative beer release. A milestone beer will join the lineup of regular brews enjoyed daily at the Tsukuba taproom.
