Minamiaizu Mountain Brewing / Taproom BeerFridge in Aizutajima, Minamiaizu, Fukushima, has announced a new beer, RIDE on SAN. The collaboration was brewed to mark the third anniversary of THE ALL DAY in Tokyo, and it arrives as a golden ale made with sanpin-cha.
The beer is based on HEY YA, one of the brewery's regular offerings. With Okinawan sanpin-cha layered into the recipe, the aroma moves toward jasmine, marmalade, and peach, with a subtle Earl Grey-like impression in the background. Bitterness is kept modest, the body stays rounded without becoming heavy, and the finish is dry. It is labeled as a Sanpin-cha Golden Ale with 4.5% ABV, making it an easygoing beer from the first pour through late-night drinking.
In the post, the brewery notes that draft beer has already sold out, while canned beer is still available. The 360 ml can format also makes it easy to take the beer home from the taproom.
As a brewpub, Minamiaizu Mountain Brewing has the appeal of letting visitors enjoy beer right where it is made. RIDE on SAN is a neat example of that local-to-local connection: a Fukushima taproom translating a Tokyo beer bar anniversary into a beer with a clear sense of place.
