HEAVY SASORI BREWING, a brewpub in Makishi near Kokusai-dori, will serve its new beer, NIOH’s Garden, on June 23 from 17:00 to 24:00. Last orders are set for 23:00 for food and 23:30 for drinks. As a taproom that serves beer brewed on site, it is a fitting place to introduce a beer with a clear local identity.

NIOH’s Garden is described as an Okinawan Pale Ale with 6.5% ABV. The recipe uses Extra Pale Premium Pilsner, Wheat Malt, and Munich I. Hops include Hallertau Blanc, Motueka, and Saaz, while the yeast is Voss Kveik. Shell ginger leaves, lemongrass, and guava leaves are also added, giving the beer a layered herbal profile.

The brewery says the beer carries bright citrus character from the fermentation, along with soft sweetness and a rounded mouthfeel. It is presented as a beer inspired by the memory of a grandparent’s garden, making it a release that ties together place, flavor, and story in one glass.
