What kind of brewery is Izushi Shiroyama Beer Brewery?
Hop Bro
Izushi Shiroyama Beer Brewery makes a huge impression from the building alone. It was renovated from the Izushi chirimen textile factory built in the Taisho era, and the sawtooth roofs are lined up one after another.

A chirimen factory!? The silk textile one? It becomes a beer brewery!

What's more, it's located within Izushi's Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and it's one of the largest buildings in the area. Right next to the ruins of Izushi Castle, it also has a large restaurant called Izushi Shiroyama Garden with about 200 seats. Founded in 1997, it already has nearly 30 years of history.

Oh! What are the regular beers like?
Hop Bro
The 'Izushi Roman' series is the core lineup, with the standard styles covered, such as Alt, Kölsch, and Weizen. But this place's real strength is its limited brews using local ingredients.

Local ingredients, for example?
Hop Bro
'Tanjou Salty IPA' is an IPA made with local Tanjou salt, and 'Black Soybean X Hazy' is a hazy-style beer made with Tamba black soybeans. They also have fruit beers made with local blueberries and a yuzu sakura sour with a bright yuzu accent.
Mugi
An IPA made with salt! What is that, I want to try it! I want to drink the black soybean hazy too!
Hop Bro
They also offer some more adventurous lineup items like Coffee X Hazy IPA and Izushi Pale Ale. Since the restaurant serves Izushi soba and Tajima beef, you can enjoy beer together with the food of Tajima.
Mugi
Izushi soba and craft beer together, I definitely want to go! I want to see the sawtooth-roofed building too!

Sitting in a 100-year-old building and drinking beer in the atmosphere of a castle town. That's an experience you can only have on site.
