Three Arrows Brewing is Fuchu City's first craft brewery, and the background of its representative, Moritaka Izawa, is unique. He used to work in the apparel industry.

From apparel to beer!? He came from a completely different world. What sparked that change?
Hop Bro
He was reportedly stunned by craft beer culture while on a business trip to Portland, USA. Seeing breweries blend into the city and beer become part of everyday life made him think, "I want to create a place like this in Japan too."
Mugi
Portland really is a holy land for craft beer. But can someone from apparel suddenly start brewing?
Hop Bro
He studied seriously at a brewing school called "Aizawa Juku." There he met head brewer Ryosuke Miyazaki, who also has an unusual background as a former car designer. Both of them jumped in from completely different industries.

Apparel and car designer! What a combo!

The first beer brewed in Fuchu was "OPEN GATE IPA." As for the regular lineup, "Bright Shot" is an American Pale Ale with citrus aroma and a light bitterness, while "Critical Shot" is an IPL that combines the hop character of an IPA with the crisp finish of a lager.
Mugi
An IPL is pretty rare, isn't it? And I saw in a photo that the tap has deer antlers on it... what are those?

Izawa is also a hunter with the Tama Region Hunting Association, and he uses deer antlers he personally hunted in Kanagawa as tap handles. He is also planning to work with local farmers, use game meat, and conduct joint research with a university on low-environmental-impact brewing, so the mission "Unlock Craft Beer For Everyone" is serious.
Mugi
A hunter and a brewer...! I want to see that deer-antler tap in person! If it's only a 2-minute walk from Fuchu Station, I can stop by after visiting Okunitama Shrine!

Their collaboration beer, "Mouflon" (a White IPA), is also great, with the softness of wheat paired with citrus hops. There are terrace seats too, so it's perfect for daytime drinking.
