Fujimi Bakushu Brewery is a brewery that started with zero brewing experience and calls itself one of Japan's smallest-scale breweries, and it's pretty impressive.

Zero experience!? You can make beer like that?

And on top of that, it has won awards four years in a row at the Japan Great Beer Awards. In 2021, it won silver for its Weizen; in 2022, it won bronze for its Weizen and silver for its IPA. Starting from zero experience and achieving results like that is really amazing.

Four years in a row!? Going that far starting with no experience must have taken an incredible amount of effort.

It opened in front of Tsuruse Station in October 2020, but it only has two 400L fermentation tanks and one 500L tank. Every step is done by hand.

Wow, it's really small. What kinds of beer can you drink there?

Its signature beer is Hefeweizen, a German-style beer made with 50% wheat malt. They also brew English Pale Ale and Tropical IPA. The brewer's top recommendation is said to be the American IPA.

If the Weizen won awards, that's the first one I want to try!

You can drink it at their directly operated Tsuruse Craft Dining, and it's also served at 11 local restaurants. Being right by the station makes it easy to get to, too.
Mugi
Fresh craft beer right by the station! And they're also supplying local shops, so it really is deeply rooted in the community. I want to go!
