Event overview

PEPOWN’s ongoing Hello! Project is a monthly-style format that fills the bar’s taps with beer from a single brewery and lets guests explore that brewery in depth. The fifth edition spotlights Falò Brewing from Yamamoto, Miyagi Prefecture, and runs on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.

About Falò Brewing

The name Falò comes from the Italian word for “campfire,” reflecting the brewery’s wish to be a place where people naturally gather and talk. The brewery operates in the former cafeteria of the closed Sakamoto Junior High School, a space now being reused as a community hub for events and local exchange.

What kind of beer to expect

The post describes Falò Brewing as a brewery that works with classic styles like lager and IPA, while also moving beyond style boundaries. Its beers are inspired by abstract ideas such as scenes and aromas, and the brewery also actively uses local ingredients such as strawberries. The lineup should appeal both to drinkers who want familiar, clean styles and to those looking for something more expressive.

Why it matters at PEPOWN

PEPOWN is a Chigasaki brewery-bar that focuses on beer first, so a takeover-style event like this fits naturally with its identity. On June 20, owner-brewer Handa Naru is also expected to be on site, making the weekend a good chance to pair the beers with conversation about Yamamoto, the brewery’s future plans, and the ideas behind each pour. It should be a two-day opportunity to taste Falò Brewing with context, not just as a tap list.
