Yorocco Beer Launches 'Lager du Soleil' With STACKS Book Store
Yorocco Beer, based in Kamakura, Kanagawa, has begun shipping 'Lager du Soleil,' a collaboration with STACKS BOOK STORE. The release pairs three distinct artist-designed labels with an Alsace-hop-driven lager built around herbal and floral notes.
Yorocco Beer, based in Kamakura, Kanagawa, shared photos and details from the release party for its collaboration with STACKS BOOK STORE, 'Lager du Soleil.' In the post, Osaka-based SORUTO could not attend, but Quentin Chambry, SASU, and KAMI visited the event and spent time talking about the project’s background while tasting the finished beer.
The beer is framed as a summer lager, with three labels that each carry a different visual tone. Chambry’s label shows a sun with a playful but slightly shadowed character; SORUTO’s work uses abstract movement and texture inspired by hops and the sun; and SASU’s design features a symmetrical apple mandala. The brewery says the project fits its ART on the Table concept, where labels and cans can be enjoyed as objects of art, not just containers.
On the flavor side, Yorocco Beer says it uses three Alsace hops from France to give the lager clear herbal and floral notes. The brewery describes it as easy to drink and suitable for meals. Shipping started in the post, and STACKS has also begun selling T-shirts tied to the project, with a sales event in Kamakura planned soon.
The collaboration reflects Yorocco Beer’s approach in Kamakura: treating beer as both a beverage and a medium for expression. 'Lager du Soleil' is built to be enjoyed with the fading summer, but also to leave a visual trace after the can is empty.
