New Project Launches

At Afterschool Brewery, a brewery in Ikejiri-Ohashi, Tokyo, a new initiative called the "Beer Beauty Club" has gotten underway. In this post, the brewery introduces brewing progress for the "Fermentable Dietary Fiber Event" starting on May 16, as part of a collaboration with Nisshin Seifun.

The beer being brewed is a Weizen. The ingredient used is the high-fiber wheat flour "Amuria". Since it clogs easily if used as is, they have adopted a highly distinctive method: asking a bakery to bake a large amount of bread, then tearing it apart and adding it to the mash. It is also striking that they describe it not as upcycling, but deliberately as an "ultra-luxurious" process.

A Glass That Thinks About Well-Being the More You Drink

The post also reveals a vision of wanting to launch the "Beer Beauty Club" as a way to build momentum around this beer. The call is to work together on researching a craft beer activity that lets you become healthier the more you drink, pairing the Amuria Weizen with fiber-rich snacks.

Set in the relaxed, easygoing atmosphere typical of a brewery in Ikejiri-Ohashi, this is a project that invites people to enjoy beer while trying out a fresh angle. It is a clear reflection of Afterschool Brewery's approach. It seems like an accessible concept not only for people who already drink craft beer often, but also for those who do not drink much, since it offers an entry point through fermentation and dietary fiber.
