Joining the Kokubunji Tomato Festival

BEER CAFE GAMBRINUS, a beer pub in Minamicho, Kokubunji, is taking part in the citywide “Kokuvege Tomato Festa” from June 6 through June 14. The pub’s own participation runs until June 13, with three limited tomato dishes on offer:

- Kokuvege tomato agedashi
- Kokuvege tomato dashi jelly
- Mini pizza topped with Kokuvege tomato

The menu is built around local tomatoes and fits naturally with a beer-focused dinner stop.

Thirteen drafts on tap

The day’s “On Tap!” lineup features three newly tapped beers marked with ★: Great Dane’s Everyday IPA, Baird Beer’s Suruga Bay IIPA, and Nomcraft’s Moon Calendar [West Coast IPA]. Overall, the list leans into hop-forward styles but stays varied enough to cover lager, pale ale, black IPA, fruit ale, Belgian yeast beer, and more.

Also pouring are Isekadoya Beer’s Oni Shibori Lager [West Coast Pilsner], Black Tide’s Full Power [Hazy IPA], Two Rabbits’ Aussie Pale Ale, Hansharo Beer’s Parallel World [Sake Yeast Beer], Koya Brewery’s Yuyake [ESB], Nomcraft’s Chiki Chiki Boon [Juicy Weizen], Johana Beer’s Hikiyama Black [Black IPA], Hino Brewing’s Hino Berry Ale [Fruit Ale], Kakegawa Farm’s Cloudy Sky [Hazy IPA], and Pilsner Urquell.

More to come

The “Coming Soon!” section adds Koya Brewery’s Waso [Japanese Saison], Outsider’s The Counties [English Pale Ale], and Blue Classic’s Tuatara [Hazy IPA]. On Saturdays, the pub opens at 3:00 p.m., with last orders at 11:00 p.m. for food and midnight for drinks, making it an easy place to spend an unhurried evening in Kokubunji.
