Three beers, including West Coast Brewing's 'The Hop Dukes', tapped at Half Yard Shiki
Half Yard Shiki introduced its newly connected guest beers on Instagram. The three beers are West Coast Brewing's 'The Hop Dukes', Shiga Kogen Beer's 'from scratch', and Ise Kadoya Beer's 'Brain-Melting Ultra Heaven', offering a wide range from IPA to blonde ale to high-alcohol styles.
At the beer pub Half Yard Shiki in Honcho, Shiki City, Saitama, the guest beer lineup has been updated. In an Instagram post, it introduced the three newly connected beers, saying, "Good evening, this is Hikage."
The beers tapped this time
- West Coast Brewing 'The Hop Dukes'
A West Coast IPA brewed with Chinook and Citra hops. It is presented as a beer for hot days, with tropical aromas reminiscent of lemon peel, passion fruit, and a little pineapple, layered with a hop-driven green character.
- Shiga Kogen Beer 'from scratch'
A blonde ale brewed with 100% Pilsner malt. It has a light mouthfeel and a gentle sweetness, and finishes with a crisp bitterness. Its well-balanced profile makes it easy to enjoy with food.
- Ise Kadoya Beer 'Brain-Melting Ultra Heaven'
A high-alcohol beer with 10.0% ABV that still aims for drinkability. The sweetness, bitterness, and hop aroma are well integrated, and the post introduces it as "the hugely popular Brain-Melt is back."
Half Yard Shiki, a beer pub where you can enjoy craft beer in the Shiki Station area, treats not only its regular taps but also these rotating guest beers as one of its attractions. The lineup lets you choose according to your mood, from a fruity, vibrant IPA to an easy-drinking blonde ale and a satisfyingly robust high-alcohol beer.
If you're pairing them with food, 'The Hop Dukes' seems like a fragrant pour that would go well with lighter dishes. 'from scratch' is a versatile beer that won't get in the way of the meal, while 'Brain-Melting Ultra Heaven' is a dense style best approached slowly. If you're looking for guest beers in Shiki, this is one update worth checking out.
