Beer O'clock taps South Shinshu, Tsugaru and Numazu Craft beers
Beer O'clock in Chiba City has introduced a fresh tap list alongside a one-day pop-up event. The lineup features beers from Minami Shinshu Beer, Tsugaru Brewery and Numazu Craft, with a clear focus on pairing them with fried dishes.
Beer O'clock, a beer pub in the Fujimi district of Chiba City, has shared a new tap list alongside a food-focused pop-up event. The post highlights a one-day collaboration with "Crisp! The Return of the Fried Horse Mackerel Shop" and introduces three fresh beers chosen with fried food in mind.
The first pour is "Alps Weizen" from Minami Shinshu Beer. As a Hefeweizen, it brings a soft wheat texture, gentle spice reminiscent of clove, and a fruity note similar to banana. It is described as a refreshing, summer-friendly beer, and it should work well with battered dishes such as aji fry.
Next is "Arigato! Lager" from Tsugaru Brewery. This rice lager keeps the clean, easy-drinking profile expected from a pilsner-adjacent beer, while using locally grown rice to give it a stronger regional identity. The post positions it as a natural match for aji fry and even rib roast tonkatsu.
The third beer is "Lava Porter" from Numazu Craft. Inspired by the black lava left behind by Mount Fuji's eruptions, it has a dark appearance but a smooth, approachable palate. The malt depth makes it a good choice for slow sipping after a meal.
Beer O'clock continues to present itself as a Chiba beer pub where the tap list and food pairings move together. This update is firmly built around that idea: beers chosen not just for style, but for how they complement fried dishes. The post also notes an upcoming event, "Wato, Futo Beer - Autumn 2026," scheduled for Tuesday, September 22.
