Magic Hour’s Session Red IPA Tapped at Beer Restaurant Kasugai
Beer restaurant Kasugai in Kunitachi, Tokyo, has tapped a Session Red IPA from Shimotakaido beer bar Magic Hour. Created to celebrate Magic Hour’s third anniversary, the beer combines a rich malt character with the easy-drinking lightness expected from a session IPA.
Beer restaurant Kasugai in Kunitachi, Tokyo, has announced a new tap: Magic Hour’s Session Red IPA. The beer comes from Magic Hour, a beer bar in Shimotakaido, and is being served at Kasugai as part of a celebration of the bar’s third anniversary.
The beer was designed to balance a clearly malt-forward character with a drinkable finish. It pours a deep red reminiscent of an evening sky. Aromas of caramel-like malt are joined by resinous hop notes and a subtle citrus impression.
On the palate, tea-like malt flavors lead into fruit notes suggestive of berries and lychee. The malt depth and hop fruitiness develop together while retaining the lighter, more refreshing character associated with a session IPA. It is suited both to a celebratory toast and to relaxed drinking alongside conversation and food.
Kasugai is a craft beer restaurant and pub with the KUNITACHI BREWERY brewery on site. The venue offers brewery-connected beers in Kunitachi and is part of a local beer network that includes SEKIYA TAP STAND near Kunitachi Station and the long-established liquor store Sekiya.
