Sumikawa Beer to Open at Sapporo Odori Park Beer Garden on July 28
Sumikawa Beer Brewery announced that it will set up at Hokkaido Brewer Station in Odori Park 10-chome, Sapporo, from July 28 through August 10. The booth will be closed on August 2, and the lineup will lean heavily toward beer-garden-only brews with guest brewery appearances on select days.
Booth Schedule
Sumikawa Beer Brewery, based in Nishioka in Sapporo's Toyohira Ward, said on Instagram that it will operate a booth at Hokkaido Brewer Station in Odori Park 10-chome. The run will take place from Tuesday, July 28, to Monday, August 10, with Sunday, August 2, off.
More Limited Beers This Year
Founded in 2017, Sumikawa Beer also handles restaurant operations and event planning in addition to brewing craft beer. The brewery runs direct-owned venues in Sapporo and has built a lineup that balances core beers with limited seasonal releases.
For this year's beer garden, the brewery said it will prepare plenty of beer-garden-only beers, shifting away from last year's more standard-beer-focused approach. Guest breweries are also scheduled to join the booth: Shikotsuko Beer on July 28, and TOBETSU YARD BREWING on August 6 and 7. TOBETSU YARD BREWING says it will pour a test-batch Belgian IPA.
A Good Opportunity for Beer Fans
Details may change, but the rotating lineup should make it easy to sample different brewery styles in central Sapporo. For drinkers looking to compare local beers in one place, Sumikawa Beer’s summer appearance at Odori Park is shaping up to be a practical stop.
