Abuden Brewing (Abuden Beer), a craft beer venture run by Abuden Miso, which has long made miso in Kagemoncho, Tochigi City, will hold a special event on Sunday, May 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last orders at 4:30 p.m. According to its Instagram, the event will feature 9 kinds of craft beer, 8 kinds of whiskey, and 2 kinds of sake, and guests can enjoy them alongside dengaku, miso cucumbers, motsuni, and more.
Abuden Brewing is a craft beer business launched in 2023 by Abuden Miso, a company founded in 1781. Brewing takes place in a miso storehouse designated as a registered tangible cultural property, and the barley used in the beer is sourced from Tochigi City. A major characteristic of this brewery is that a long-established miso maker is developing beer rooted in the local food culture.
At the shop that serves as the venue, the style of pairing beer with miso dengaku and homemade miso dishes has already become well established. Since this event will feature not only beer but also whiskey and sake, it is suited to people who want to sample different drinks while enjoying a meal. In the historic interior of Kagemoncho, it looks set to be a day to leisurely savor Abuden Brewing's Japanese-style snacks and craft drinks.
