The beer pub Taru Taru in Kawaramachi, Takamatsu City announced in an Instagram post that it had tapped MIROC BEER's 'Hannya' as a guest beer.

Taru Taru is notable for its design, with the taps visible from outside. All five taps serve domestic craft beer, and four of them feature beers from Kagawa Prefecture. Inside, there is a camphorwood counter and table seating in the back, so guests can either settle in for a long drink or stop by for a casual standing drink.

The newly featured 'Hannya' is a beer from MIROC BEER, a microbrewery in Marugame City, Kagawa Prefecture. According to official information, it is a RED RYE IPA with 6% ABV and 69 IBU. Its reddish-brown color is layered with the toasty aroma of rye, a full-bodied malt character, and a hop aroma reminiscent of grapes. It is said to be the most bitter beer in the MIROC BEER lineup, while still being designed to pair well with meat dishes.

'Hannya' also won gold in the Strong Red Ale category at the International Beer Cup 2025. Being able to taste a beer with such a sharply defined bitterness fresh from the tap is one of the pleasures unique to a beer pub. In a place like Taru Taru, which centers its lineup on local craft beer while adding guest beers, there is also the fun of comparing it with the house favorites.

Located just a short walk from Kawaramachi Station, Taru Taru is also easy to drop into after work or while out drinking in town. For people who want to focus on domestic craft beer, as well as those looking for an individualistic IPA from a Kagawa brewery, this tapping is not to be missed.
