YOHO Brewing, based in Miyota, Nagano, has launched Fruit Detajan, its first fruit beer sold nationwide through a convenience store chain. The beer went on sale on July 28, 2026, at about 15,800 FamilyMart stores that carry alcohol, as a limited-time product.

Flavor design

The beer is brewed in the fruit Belgian white style. It builds on the classic Belgian white base of orange peel and coriander seed, then adds orange juice and pink grapefruit juice. The result is a beer with citrus aroma, a spicy edge, and a juicy fruit character. It comes in 350 ml cans, has an alcohol content of 5.0%, and sells for JPY 337 including tax.

Easy to drink, with food

YOHO Brewing says the goal was to keep the balance firmly in beer territory rather than making it taste like juice. The bitterness is kept moderate, making it approachable for drinkers who do not usually reach for beer or craft beer. FamilyMart positions the release as part of its effort to offer new flavor experiences in everyday life.

Suggested pairings include fresh salad, white fish, and dried fruit. The package art features grapefruit-like islets and a sea of beer, expressing a light vacation mood for summer drinking.
