FIVE TREES Gakugei-daigaku Introduces Himonya Ale, Alongside Takaban Lager and Gohongi Ale
In its Instagram post, FIVE TREES Gakugei-daigaku introduced Himonya Ale as part of its new product series. The pale ale draws inspiration from Himonya’s neighborhood name and history, joining the brewery’s in-house lineup with Takaban Lager and Gohongi Ale.
FIVE TREES Gakugei-daigaku, located at 2-35-13 Chuocho in Meguro, Tokyo, is a brewery with an on-site taproom that serves its own house beers. In the latest post labeled "New Product Announcement 3," the brewery introduced a new beer called Himonya Ale.
Himonya Ale is presented as a pale ale inspired by Himonya, an area known as an upscale residential neighborhood, as well as the stone monuments historically associated with the origin of the place name. The idea is to translate the neighborhood’s quiet character and local background into the beer itself.
The post also points to a lineup that includes Takaban Lager, Gohongi Ale, and Himonya Ale. Takaban Lager is described as the brewery’s standard beer, Gohongi Ale carries over the identity developed before the renewal, and Himonya Ale adds a new option to the range. For drinkers looking for locally rooted craft beer in Gakugei-daigaku, it is a lineup worth noting.
