At Titans Craft Beer Taproom in Minamiotsuka, Toshima Ward, Tokyo, the two-day rooftop beer garden "LAGER DAY" will take place on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. Of the 14 taps spanning the first floor and rooftop, 10 are lagers. For lager fans, the lineup is designed so they can compare not only the differences between labels, but also the depth of malt and the crispness of the finish.

The highlight this time is the new release "Bearded Barbet." It is a collaboration among Inkhorn Brewing, Tokyo Aleworks, and TITANS, styled as a Vienna Lager with an ABV of 5.2%. Since it is a style that readily balances malt aroma with a clean finish, it should work well as either a first pour or something to pair with food. Also available is Vienna Lager "Red Soul 2," brewed at KOBO. This is said to be a different version from TITANS' 9th anniversary beer from last year, so even within the same lager family, there should be enjoyable differences in character.

Titans Craft Beer Taproom is a beer pub in Otsuka that doubles as a craft beer taproom and bottle shop. It is located just south of JR Otsuka Station, making it easy to drop by casually. During events, the rooftop's open-air feel is added to the relaxed first-floor space, letting you enjoy a glass in a mood a little different from the usual taproom experience.

This event is less a one-off showcase of flashy special beers and more a concept that presents the breadth of lager as a whole. Starting with the new collaboration beer, it should be fun to compare different Vienna Lagers and work through the distinct character of each tap one by one. Since Sunday, May 17 will be closed for Adam's first memorial anniversary, the best days to visit are May 15 and 16.
