A notable topic for the spring Kansai beer scene has emerged in the movements of SHIMA BREWERY and Yamato Brewery.

According to the organizers and official event information, they are scheduled to appear as "Shima Brewery / Yamato Brewery" at the "Kyoto Yugawari Craft Beer Festival 2026" (May 2 to May 3, Riki no Yu, Fushimi, Kyoto). In the list of participating breweries, Shima Brewery is being introduced as making its first appearance at a Kansai event.

Shima Brewery is a brewery founded in 2025 in Shima, Mie. On its official website, it emphasizes "drinkability" and clearly presents beers designed to be enjoyed one glass after another. Its standard lineup centers on three beers: GOLDEN ALE, COLD IPA, and PALE LAGER, and its defining trait is a flavor profile that aims to suit the atmosphere of the tourist destination of Ise-Shima. Having a taproom attached to the brewery is also a strength, making it easy to include in a travel route.

Yamato Brewery, meanwhile, is an established presence based in Nara. The two are connected as breweries in the same general circle, and this joint booth should offer a chance to experience both the brewing skills refined in Nara and the new expressions being developed in Shima at the same time.

The venue is free to enter, though ticketed, and the event will feature about 25 breweries from around Japan. As a spring destination, it should be a practical event for beer fans who want to taste and compare Shima Brewery's current lineup on site.
