Craft Beer Bar & Bottle Shop Progress, a beer pub in Musashikosugi (Kosugi-cho, Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki City), will open at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 4 (national holiday). As befits a holiday service day, the lineup was introduced for relaxed daytime drinking.
The two beers tapped that day were karuizawaQ's "Tomarigi Kölsch" and NUDE x Fujizakura's "Raizakura Roggen w/spearmint." The former captures the light, easy-drinking character typical of a Kölsch enjoyed in Cologne, Germany, layering gentle aromas reminiscent of herbs and lemon over a soft malt presence. It is the kind of beer that goes down smoothly, and before you know it, your hand is reaching for another sip. The latter is an ambitious expression that combines rye-driven flavor with spearmint, described in a post as "adult mint tea." It is milder than toothpaste or choco mint, with a calm impression like mint tea, making it a good fit for hot days or whenever you want to reset your mood.
Progress is open on weekdays from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Every Wednesday and Thursday, takeaway draft beer is 20% off, and in addition to bringing your own growler, the shop also offers weigh-and-pour sales using cups or plastic bottles sold on site. The outdoor seating area allows pets and includes leash hooks, making it convenient for a casual drop-in visit. Since the shop accepts cashless payment only, it is worth keeping that in mind when you go.
